Come live for a few days in a rainforest!
We are on a journey from the city to the wilderness and we invite you to join us for a taste of it.
P'titPot sits on a remote and beautiful location, bordering a secluded, clear-water creek, amid a tropical forest.
We are a family-run lodge, with two cabanas: The Danio and The Barbet House, and a home-stay option for solo-travellers.
We offer charming, homely accommodation, with limited connectivity, to allow you to relax and reconnect with Nature.
If you're looking to unplug from the mental noise pollution of the Internet, come to P'titPot for a true digital detox.

We're about helping you leave aside your stress and your various devices, so that you can live in the moment and soak in the healing and restorative power of Mother Nature.

P'titPot is situated at 20 minutes’ drive from the Deraniyagala town, up Maliboda road, Poddenikanda, Sri Lanka, at an elevation of 1000 ft (300m) above sea level, in a tropical rainforest climate. The temperature normally varies between 20°C and 28°C.
We are in the eastern foothills, close to the Peak Wilderness Sanctuary with routes connecting via Dehiowita to Awissawella-Colombo, and via Ratnapura-Deniyaya to Matara and via Ginigathhena to the Hatton-Nuwara Eliya highway; mostly very scenic and less frequented routes.
There are direct nearby routes (motorable and hiking) to Adam's Peak.
Travelling time
2 ½ to 3 hours from Colombo, depending on traffic conditions.
As we are in a rainforest, we strongly urge you to time your travelling for daylight hours, preferably in the morning or early afternoon. The rainy season is a special time to visit, but extra care needs to be taken, as there are two overflow-bridges on the way. Do not cross them if the water flow is high. Generally, the water recedes quickly.

Safety
The host's residence is located approximately 60 feet away from both the cabanas. She's always reachable if you need anything.
P'titPot is located in a little hamlet of 6 houses only. The villagers are welcoming and helpful.
Concerning wildlife, there are hump-nosed vipers in the area. But they prefer to stay on the leaf litter and avoid cleared and swept-out areas. There are wild boars. They too avoid houses and lights. You can check our Activities Page for the list of fauna at P'titPot.
